How does IPL work?
IPL is a light based therapy that works by targeting structures within the skin such as Melanin, Blood and water in the collagen, with wavelengths of light to break down the structure and improve the appearance of the skin. How many treatments are needed?
For a course of photorejuvenation for we recommend a course of 3-6 treatments, 2-3 weeks apart. For treating acne with IPL we recommend a course of 3-4 treatments at 2-3 week intervals. Lastly for vascular lesions only 1-3 treatments are required at 2-3 week intervals.
What can be treated?
Each therapy uses particular wavelengths to target the problem area. These treatments have fantastic results for a number of skin conditions including Rosacea, Pigmentation, Acne, Broken blood vessels, red and blue facial veins, fine lines and wrinkles.

How does it feel?
A slight warming tingling sensation best describes the feeling experienced during IPL treatment. This is minimised by a specially developed cryogenic-handset that’s is placed on the skin before the treatment.

Pre-Treatment Advice to clients
4 Weeks before Treatment: Do not expose the skin to UV or self tan for at least 4 weeks before and/or between IPL treatments.
1 Week before Treatment: Avoid intense exfoliation, microdermabrasion or peels.
24-48 hours before Treatment: Do not use bleaching creams or perfumed products
Post-Treatment Advice to Clients
For up to 24 Hours: Avoid using make up on the treated areas, allowing the skin to cool naturally.
For up to 48 Hours: Avoid all heat treatments including hot baths, showers, saunas and steam rooms. No swimming in strongly chlorinated water. Do not use bleaching creams. Avoid perfumed products. Leave any temporary skin responses such as redness to subside naturally. Do not touch, pick or scratch the areas.
For 1 Week: Do not exfoliate the treated area or use peels.
For 2 Weeks: No UV Exposure, No Self-Tan, Avoid prolonged outdoor activity that may expose the skin to alot of wind or sun.
For 6 Weeks: Use sun protection SPF 30+. Limit sun exposure and do not use tanning beds for at least 6 weeks.
