I started as a single mum on benefits, working from home around two babies. From there, I became a mobile therapist, rented space inside another salon and eventually opened a salon of my own.
But as the business grew, so did the pressure. I reached the VAT threshold without the systems or structure I needed. I was working constantly, barely making a profit and worried about being able to pay wages.
I knew that if something didn’t change, I could lose everything I had worked so hard to build.
So I stopped winging it and rebuilt the business from the foundations up.
Today, B-Unique is a multi-award-winning salon with one of the highest client retention rates in the UK. My achievements have been featured in The Sun, Professional Beauty and Scratch Magazine and it no longer relies on me being there every day.
