Fifteen years ago, Jamie-Lee was on a completely different path. With a degree in primary education, she had planned to shape young minds in the classroom. But life had other plans. When she became pregnant with her daughter, Jamie decided to retrain in beauty—an industry she had always admired but never envisioned as her career.

What started with nails quickly evolved into a full-fledged passion. Self-funding her way through NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy, Jamie-Lee gained experience as a self-employed beauty professional within a salon.
But something was missing—she knew she could create something different, something truly special.
That vision became B-Unique Beauty & Aesthetics, a salon built on inclusivity, warmth, and exceptional service. Over the years, Jamie-Lee has grown a team that shares her dedication to making every client feel valued. Her dream wasn’t just about beauty—it was about building a space where people felt seen, supported, and confident.
Fast forward to 2024, and after years of persistence, Jamie-Lee achieved a long-awaited milestone: becoming a finalist in the Professional Beauty Awards—the Oscars of the beauty industry. After countless applications and near-misses, she finally made it. It wasn’t just a personal victory; it was a moment of triumph for her entire team.
In March, the B-Unique squad attended the Professional Beauty Show, where they reunited with former team member Benz—an unforgettable part of their salon family. That evening, they stepped into the prestigious awards ceremony, standing proudly alongside industry giants like Aqua Sana Spa. While they didn’t take home the top prize, the moment was never about winning—it was about being recognised for 15 years of unwavering dedication.
The night was filled with celebration, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Holly and Jamie-Lee danced the night away—Holly even showcased her legendary ‘worm’ move on the dance floor. Meanwhile, Madi and Georgi, despite feeling under the weather, still made the effort to attend and support their team before heading back to rest.
The biggest lesson of the night? Success doesn’t come easy—but with hard work, perseverance, and the right people by your side, anything is possible. Jamie-Lee’s next goal is clear: not just to be a finalist but to bring home the award
