Chemical Peels Pre Treatment Care
For all Nimue chemical peels, please arrive with clean skin free from makeup. Avoid retinoids, AHAs and BHAs for at least 48 hours before your appointment and let us know if you have had any recent skin treatments or injectables.
For the Laser Carbon Facial, we ask that you prepare your skin in advance:
Keep skin well hydrated in the days leading up to treatment. Switch to a gentle cleanser and non-active moisturiser for 3 to 5 days before. Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30+ daily for 5 to 7 days prior. Stop all active ingredients including retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C and exfoliants at least 3 to 5 days before your appointment. Do not wax, thread or shave the treatment area within 48 hours. Come to your appointment with no makeup, lotions or oils on the skin. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before to minimise any sensitivity.
Please disclose any recent peels, laser treatments, microneedling or injectables at consultation, along with any history of cold sores, rosacea or eczema.
Chemical Peel Post Treatment Care
For Nimue peels, avoid makeup for at least 3 to 4 hours post-treatment. Do not use active products on the same day. If your skin feels sensitive, reduce use of Nimue Conditioner and active products for a few days. Apply SPF daily and avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunbeds throughout your course of treatments. Wait at least 3 days before any facial waxing.
After the Laser Carbon Facial, apply a soothing fragrance-free moisturiser twice daily and use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 to 50 from the day of treatment onwards. Avoid direct sun for 5 to 7 days. Use only a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF for 3 to 5 days post-treatment. Do not apply makeup for 24 hours. Avoid retinol, acids and exfoliants for 5 to 7 days. No hot water, steam rooms or exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Do not pick or scrub any flaking skin. Avoid further facials, waxing or peels for one week.

Are Chemical Peels suitable for Sensitive Skin?
Yes, we have options suitable for sensitive skin including gentler resurfacing treatments. We will always assess your skin at consultation and recommend the most appropriate peel for your skin type and concern.
Can I add Dermaplaning or LED Phototherapy to any Facial?
Yes. Both Dermaplaning and LED Phototherapy are available as add-ons to any facial treatment. These can be discussed and added at the time of booking or on the day.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your skin concern and the treatment we recommend. Some clients see good results from a single session while others benefit from a course. We will advise you at consultation based on your skin and your goals.
How often should I have a Facial?
For most clients we recommend a facial every four to six weeks to keep the skin in its best condition. We will advise you on the best frequency for your skin type and concerns at your appointment.
